EV Charger Uptime: It's Not Just a Number!

Did you know that EV charger uptime is strictly regulated? Charging stations receiving government funding (like those from the NEVI program) must maintain a 97% uptime!  Failing to meet this standard can result  in serious consequences, including:

  • Loss of funding
  • Hefty fines
  • Ineligibility for future grants

But what doesn't count towards that 97%? Things like vandalism, severe weather?

And important note: Even planned maintenance is factored into  the uptime calculation. This emphasizes the importance of minimizing unplanned downtime. Let's make sure our electric vehicle charging station infrastructure is top-notch!
