Women Who Charge (WWC) announced the start of an innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station pilot program focused on encouraging small businesses in Denver to adopt EV technology for their employees on the challenges small businesses have and how this program will address them.
The pilot program features charging stations that are available for the general public, especially in more densely populated areas where EV stations are hard to find. The overall goals include:
· Help make EV’s part of everyday practice for more small businesses and building
owners.
· Encourage small business owners to create workplace charging programs.
· Inform them of grants and resources available to them.
· Growth of the program to make EV charging more readily-available.
The program aligns with WWC’s mission of advocating and supporting global sustainability efforts by encouraging the growth of the electric vehicle industry through leading-edge programs, events and advocacy.
The funny thing about EVs...
Join us for a few laughs for a watch party, in person of the new show "Stand Up for EVs"- a Comedy Show commissioned by the non profit Generation 180.
September 27th @ 4:30 pm Denver time.
About the show:
Celebrate National Drive Electric Week, have a laugh, and learn how to engage your neighbors, friends, and co-workers around electric vehicles and clean energy. Research across disciplines shows that comedy is uniquely persuasive and attention-getting when it comes to serious issues like climate. Join Generation180 staff and Women Who Charge of Colorado and hear how members of our Climate Comedy Cohort leverage humor as a strategy to change the climate narrative from doom and gloom to “we’ve got this!” Climate fellows will share what works and what doesn’t when it comes to shifting how people see their role in clean energy.
Everyone is Welcome.
$5 at the door is appreciated
Yes, we advocate for Electric Vehicles but E-bikes are also great!
Help us raise money to give away an E-bike for Christmas.
We need 72 people to pitch in $25. Our goal is to raise $1,500. This will cover the cost of a new E-bike, including assembly and safety check.
Women Who Charge will work with a local Denver church to identify a suitable candidate that would find an e-bike useful in their daily commute.
Our campaign to give away a free e-bike can help to raise awareness of e-bikes as a micro-mobility transportation option.
Rise and Ride, an event staged by Women Who Charge, was held on Saturday morning, October 2, and got a great turn-out for an early morning event. Attendees got a free cup of coffee and a donut, and a chance to win free prizes.
Rise and Ride introduced residents in the Five Points neighborhood to Colorado CarShare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities live a car-free lifestyle, which has installed a car-sharing location on Welton Street near 29thStreet.
LaSheita Sayer, President of Women Who Charge, says more than 50 people stopped by. “Repeatedly, we heard phrases like, ‘I didn't know "x brand" had an EV,’ ‘I love the look of that car,’ and ‘This is such a good idea to be able to see the options,’” Sayer added. “We’re delighted at how successful the event was.”
Women Who Charge saw a great turn-out at our booth at the 38th Annual Colorado Concours and Exotic Sports Car Show on September 12. Attendees were able to check out the latest models of EVs and ask questions of volunteers and automotive representatives.
Women Who Charge hosted the Five Points EV Strike Zone, an EV car show, on July 10, as part of a Denver-wide celebration leading up to Major League Baseball's All Star Game at Coors Field.
A number of recent EVs models were showcased amidst some fantastic live music -- the focus of the Jazz Along Welton festival, hosted by the Five Points Business Improvement District.
All the bustling activity drew music lovers and car enthusiasts to the Women Who Charge event, and our wonderful volunteers were on hand to answer questions about what it's like to own an electric vehicle.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.

November 2021 Topic - Colorado Utilities Incentives and Rebates
On November 29th please join the Women Who Charge Sparking Connections webinar. With help from utility companies across the state, we will be answering the question about how to save money on electric vehicles and charging stations. We have invited representatives from four Colorado utilities to discuss their EV-related incentives and rebate programs.
The utility companies on the lighting fast round table will be Monica Rosenbluth from Xcel Energy, Matt Fitzgibbon from Tri-State Energy, Jon Beyer from San Isabel Electric, and Joel Danforth from United Power.
Please spread the word to your network, family, and friends! Whether you're working in the electric vehicle space or are interested in learning more about how to get charging at home, this virtual round table is for EVERYONE! We can all benefit from these programs in breaking down barriers to EV adoption.
Monday, November 29th @ 3pm.
The conversion of gas fleets to electric is an exciting opportunity for small businesses that we believe can benefit your business in multiple ways. As an advocate for environmentally friendly practices, we would like to invite you to a meeting and tour an existing Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet.
Fluid has significantly reduced their carbon footprint, and they are seeing considerable savings on fuel and maintenance costs. We believe this transition can present a similar potential for your business.
Embracing sustainable practices such as transitioning to electric fleets not only aligns with today's environmental goals but also has the potential to positively impact your bottom line. By reducing fuel and maintenance expenses, you can redirect those funds towards further growth and development of your business.
